A ge'ain, also known as a tardy, is a cactacae whose growth from a bulb was deliberately delayed through the use of "arcane husbandry". Ge'ain are notable for their massive size and deformed body structure. Despite their physical alterations, ge'ain are just as mentally acute as any other cactacae.

The practice of retarding the growth of a few bulbs for several months is common in the Galaggi Veldt, and produces adult cactacae whose wooden bones are deformed and who tower over their normal peers. In addition to the obvious phsyical changes, ge'ain have greatly enhanced senses.

Role in veldt culture[]

Ge'ain are used as lookouts and guardians. They occupy two somewhat contradictory roles in veldt culture, simultaneously shunned and worshipped. Ge'ain are not given names.
