Ludmead is home to New Crobuzon's prestigious New Crobuzon University. Owing to the presence of the university, Ludmead has numerous cheap and noisy student taverns, as well as good lighting and safety. The district also hosts the Ludmead Station skyrail stop on the Dexter line.
